The most important concern that I and I believe all conservatives should have for 2008 is keeping Hillary and Bill out of a return engagement in the White House. If that means supporting McCain, then I will vote for him. While I do not like McCain's position on many domestic issues, he is strong on defense and national security. Therefore, he is much much preferable than the Clintons. We conservatives should not be like the Naderites who thought algore was not 'pure' enough. Clearly we are smart enough to recognize that McCain is much better for the country than another dose of the Clintons.

Don'tg be so sure. Imagine campaign finance reform writ large. McCain, while good on some stuff ( and I like the letter to Osama Obama, wish he'd kept it private) can be pretty off he wall on other things. He can also be pretty mean.

Why do you think Conservatives don't want Ms Rodham in the White House?

"he is strong on defense and national security."

I don't think he is. We've just received a letter from him (asking for money)in it he describes the funding of two military projects which he identifies as pork barrel and touts himself as standing against them. The letter contains what one might most kindly cause extreme misinformation, which a man in his position should not be quoting, or outright lies that are being used to try to ingratiate himself with anti-military liberals.
