VISTA – A Superior Court judge sentenced Adrian Camacho to death on Tuesday for killing a rookie Oceanside police officer during a traffic stop in 2003.

Adrian Camacho is seen here in court on Nov. 30, 2005, when a jury voted to recommend the death penalty. That is the sentence a Superior Court judge handed down

Camacho, 30, was stopped by Officer Tony Zeppetella in the parking lot of a Oceanside credit union. Prosecutors argued that Camacho shot and killed Zeppetella because he feared being sent back to prison if the officer found drugs and a stolen gun he had in the car.

Zeppetella was 27.

Being sentenced and receiving the sentence are 2 very different things, 'specially on the Left Coast. But hey! At least he can meet Mike Farrell!

Outsource the job to Texas. Sentences get carried out here with regularity.

I was thinking the same thing.

Execution Date?

Hmmm, probably in 15-20 years.

Well we have executed 2 of them in the past month or so. If we execute one a month it would take a while to clear out death row, but it can be done.

Hey, when does his first Nobel Peace Prize nomination get filed? Before or after he writes his children's book?
