I read somewhere today that at the Steelers parade, Swan was a crowd favorite with chants of "Governor" going non- stop until Swan reminded the crowd that it was a day to honor the Steelers Super Bowl win. Rendell was in attendence.
Sort of the opposite of the neverending funerally of Mrs. King.
Found the link to the Swann "reception" at the Steeler parade:
SWEET REPORT FROM AN E-MAILER [Kathryn Jean Lopez]
Lynn Swann was just speaking at the Steelers victory celebration in Pittsburgh (Rendell is in attendance). He was interrupted by the crowd chanting GOVERNOR, GOVERNOR, GOVERNOR! He actually had to stop the crowd and remind them that today is just about the glorious Steeler Super bowl victory !
It is a GREAT day in the 'burgh!

Then, in the third inning, he got announced and got a round of boos. Granted, Lancaster is ground zero for PA Republicans, but I was really surprised at both Rendell's gall to show up late and announce it as well as the crowd's discontent at his attempt to insert himself into the whole thing.
