FLANDERS, Belgium, February 7, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Four hundred people were reported killed by euthanasia in Belgium in 2005, double the rate of four years ago.
Belgium legalized euthanasia in 2002, following the Netherlands to become the second European country to do so. In the first year two hundred people were killed. Since then rates have steadily risen. Last year deaths reportedly reached 360.
Figures published today indicate one third of “assisted suicides” involve a surgical procedure, reported the Evening Echo News.
In some cases, medical treatment is stopped, or not started at all, said Wim Distelmans, chairman of Belgium’s euthanasia evaluation committee.
80% of all reported cases of euthanasia take place in the northern Flanders region, where there is a network of doctors involved in the practice.

[The next step will be the Culture of Death deciding for the person whether they get to live or die, it will be just like Nazi Germany.]
What was that woman's name in Florida who was "allowed" to die after a judge decided that's what she "would have wanted"?
Euthanasia Euphemisms. EU.
Yep, just like they did to Terri Schiavo.
Culture of Death ping.
Given the level of killings going on in Belgium, it's time for you to contact your HMO and your local hospitals to make sure they don't have anyone on their staff who worked, had a practice, or was trained in medicine in Belgium.
Sounds like these guys are drumming up business.
When you specialize in using death-dealing drugs, every patient looks like someone who's about ready to "pass on."
The generation which promoted abortion, because caring for the unborn was too much of a burden, are now finding that when they themselves get to be too much of a burden, they can be euthanized.
(The mills of the gods grind slow, but sure. . .)
And now that the SCOTUS has ruled that Oregon can off its citizens if they ask nicely once or twice, we'll see this evil spreading here. The final solution to the bogey man of over-population. Over-population of others. I always note that those who fret about over-population never off themselves. It's always too many "others".
I wonder how that affects your life insurance.
