Congrats and thanks to you and your husband from an old sailor.

I'd be happy to go but they won't have me any more. Wars always seem to be for young men and now young women.

Although I would gladly trade places with ANY young man or woman in Walter Reed or Bethesda just to make them whole again, I know that it can't happen.

I seriously doubt that I am the only veteran that feels this way and would probably have to get in a LONG line. Please hug him and let him know that there many old veterans that would gladly give their lives so that more could come home and raise families.

You are too kind, old sailor, and obviously have a heart of gold. Thank you for your kind words. Big hugs right back at ya.

"I'd be happy to go but they won't have me any more."

I have discussed this exact issue in the Canteen.

On the one hand, I am sorry that they have to go at all, pray for them and wish that none of them would come to harm.

On the other hand, I envy them exactly because I cannot be there with them.

Needless to say, it is a very frustrating feeling every time I think about it.

Shezza, ( A note to your husband. ) A big Welcome home, brother.....and a sharp, snappy military salute to you and your family! :-)
