Roberts is SENATE Intelligence Committee; Wilson is House.

Peter Hoekstra (R-MI) is the Chair of the HOUSE Committee -- he needs to put Wilson in her place!!

Yes, subcommittee. Hoekstra chairs the intelligence committee. My question is what is bubbling beneath the surface that makes her apprehensive about who NSA is monitoring and why? Or has she been embarrassed, as the chair of the committee responsible for oversight of the NSA, not to have known what they were up to?

He should be pissed. Leahy said that Roberts was "lazy" and "his committee lacked any real serious effort".

Senator Roberts has been working his ass off the last 5 years. It's Democrats like Levin, Turdbin and Leahy who have been derailing his efforts to get his Phase II report out.

If you listened to the hearing yesterday...the dems AND the GOP Senators seemed to have a hard time accepting that there is something going on that they are controlling..and able to brag about or complain about..

NOW, thanks to the NYTimes, they are getting their chance...and they are all taking their shot.

I think Heather Wilson is ex-military, also...which probably makes her even more angry at being out of the loop.

She's a "moderate" targeted by the Dems this election.

The administration will probably go along with her, mostly. Though security concerns would rule out a full House inquiry.

Well .. I sure hope Peter does. It's bad enough having to listen to the dems prima donna's without having to put up with a repub too.

Right, he is. She's Chair of the Subcommittee on Technical and Tactical Intelligence

Just because someone is on a committe .. doesn't mean they are to be given this sensative classified national security information

What we are seeing in congress is a power play

Seems some in congress think they have more powers and are more important then the President of the United States

I've said it before and I'll say it again

If they are that upset about terrorists being wiretapped

then they have the right to do away and defund FISA

I am sick of these power play games .. Go on record and vote against it

Time to call Frist and tell him to take the vote to the floor. Defund it, stop it, or shut up.

Anyone who screws with our intelligence gathering should be held personally responsible for any terrorism visited upon us.

Sunday on FTN, Jeff Sessions said that per statute the people who were supposed to be briefed on the surveillance program were briefed. And IIRC, Schieffer (sp) reminded Leahy that Congress does leak stuff.
