A House Republican whose subcommittee oversees the National Security Agency broke ranks with the White House on Tuesday and called for a full Congressional inquiry into the Bush administration's domestic eavesdropping program.
The lawmaker, Representative Heather A. Wilson of New Mexico, chairwoman of the House Intelligence Subcommittee on Technical and Tactical Intelligence, said in an interview that she had "serious concerns" about the surveillance program. By withholding information about its operations from many lawmakers, she said, the administration has deepened her apprehension about whom the agency is monitoring and why.
Ms. Wilson, who was a National Security Council aide in the administration of President Bush's father, is the first Republican on either the House's Intelligence Committee or the Senate's to call for a full Congressional investigation into the program, in which the N.S.A. has been eavesdropping without warrants on the international communications of people inside the United States believed to have links with terrorists.

She's just trying to play this for political points.
So, Heather has two daddies ~ is one of them named Sulzburger?
I find this very difficult to believe - as head of the House intel comm - she was supposed to have been briefed - I cannot understand why she wouldn't have been.
These stinking repubs are going to get us killed!!
She oversees NSA which confuses me more.

And .. reaffirms my statement - why on earth wouldn't she have known. The head of NSA needs to check that out right away.
Maybe W. knows her well enough to know she can't be trusted with any series information.
Having her position on the oversight committee doesn't mean she was able to pass a security background check, does it?
Senator Roberts needs to be out in front of all of this, and not bozos like Specter, Leahy, Turdbin, Kennedy, Feingold, Graham, and Heather Wilson.
She hasn't been briefed, she's head of a Subcommittee. She wants some of the limelight I would guess.
Roberts is getting really pissed from what I've seen. Let's see how he handles it.

But .. what that says to me is she's offended because she didn't get told about the secret stuff - and she wasn't supposed to have access to the secret stuff.
These congress people are so full of themselves. Geeeeeeez! They are getting so tiresome!
