I hope the next Republican President is a more tough minded individual than George W. Bush. The next GOP President should not even let the liberal media onto the White House grounds. He should also end the circus side shows where the President appears at banquets with left wing artists, actors, writers, scholars, etc. There is no need for President Bush to stand in a photo next to, say, Robert Redford or Oprah Winfrey.
Unless we have leadership that will ignore and cut off the iron triangle of media, academia, and entertainment from Federal funding and access to prestige, conservatism and traditional values will probably never get the upper hand. Enough self-sacrifice and self-effacing; it is time to treat the enemy within as we treat the enemy overseas.
We're not likely EVER going to have another President who sticks his thumb in the eye of the leftist media as this President.
(btw, sounds like a touch of jealousy with the 'country club' line of attack? How about the fact that the President and his father are just decent, moral men and behaved the way we are ALL supposed to behave?)
It takes a lot more guts to deal with those who hate you on a day to day basis because you realize you are President for all of America than to take revenge on your critics because you have a position of power.
Bush is stronger and has more class that anyone else who attended the funeral (except maybe for his wife), and the whole nation saw it.
They have gotten the upper hand by doing exactly what so upsets you. Life ain't perfect, by any stretch, but conservatives are doing better than we have in quite a while.
