U.S. journalist Jill Carroll has appeared in a video aired on a private Kuwaiti TV channel appealing for her supporters to do whatever her Iraqi kidnappers want to secure her release.

I predicted she would not be harmed within a day of her "kidnapping" so far that prediction has held while deadlines have come and gone.

Why would you believe that. The videos do not demonstrate her being an innocent victim especially the first one in which she was as calm as could be.
That was my immediate suspicion. Do you have any proof sheis a convert?
Why wouldn't they be taken seriously? Give us money or we'll kill her. I guess I don't get what you're saying. But I do know that some people made fools of themselves by saying that Daniel Pearl and his wife were "faking it" and I find it hard to believe that an American would collaborate with terrorists and think no harm would come.
They'll kill her just because they can - no matter if she was a willing hostage or not. When will these idiots learn that the kidnappers are crazier than they are?
The fact that she is not dead appears to prove your assertion.
There is no callousness involved merely the completely justifiable belief that she had only one purpose in Iraq and that was to undermine US efforts. Her reporting didn't do it as well as hoped and now this scheme seems to be failing as well.
Why would you take her word from it when it is clear she is a typical Treason Media type.
at this point, I tend to agree with you. video after video, the same demands again and again. at some point, if this were legit, she would either be killed or released.
Doesn't matter if she is a willing participant, a sympathizer, or a true hostage. The fact is that we cannot negotiate hostage releases with terrorists. End of story.

Looking at the video frame by frame, and I know this is going to elicit some howls, but I'll be darned if the "hostage" isn't anything more than Hijab Barbie, the latest toy sensation.
I am sorry but no matter how much I try, I can't seem to muster the concern and care for any person, male or female that willingly goes into a war zone as a civilian.
They should make terrorist music videos.
In the video she was speaking in Arabic, but I was able to read her lips.
