I'm calling on the U.S. National Organization for Women to come out and loudly support this Muslim woman.

But the mood in the Netherlands, as in much of Europe, changed after Sept. 11, 2001. In the month that followed, there was an unheard of backlash against the nearly one million Muslims living in the Netherlands, with more than 70 attacks against mosques. Sept. 11 also gave politicians licence to vent brewing animosities. I dont recall hearing about this - I thought Europe hated America?.....the press says so

Wonder if she is single.That's a safe bet.
Brave lady. I hope she survives. Wish she'd stay here, where she would be a little more safe. She's a sitting duck in Holland, unless she goes around completely veiled.

This woman is an articulate spokesman for our side (I heard her do a great radio interview for...BBC? NPR? It's worth looking for). She lives in hiding under constant threat of death in the Netherlands.
