How anybody can support a person who associates, even inderectly, with Farrakhan is beyond me.
More twittery from Shapiro. Once Hitler attacked the USSR--months before we entered the war--Britain was safe and Hitler's goose was cooked. The same is true of Auschwitz, which was liberated by the Red Army, which also inflicted 85% of all casualties on the Wehrmacht.
Buchanan has consistently advocated letting other countries do the fighting and dying whenever possible. For some strange reason, a desire to save American lives is seen as "unpatriotic" by those who think patriotism consists in volunteering (other) Americans to be the first to fight and die.
"Now you're just plain lying."
You loose credibility in my eyes, right there.
Truth hurts, huh? A guy named "Shapiro" will get some anti-jew emails. Deal with it.
Buchanan's running mate was Ezola Foster, a conservative black Christian from Los Angeles. You could look it up, if facts mattered to you.
I think many were in agreement based on Bush's flat out refusal, being the chief executive officer whose specific constitutional job it is, to execute existing law to secure our southern borders.
Yes. Buchanan opposes all foreign aid unless it is given to support an avowed enemy of the state of Israel.
Anti-Muslim provocation.
What did Pat Buchanan do on the anniversary of D-Day?
Cry because his side lost.
How does Pat Buchanan rally his supporters at a Reform Party meeting?
He reads one of his speeches in front of a mirror.
What does Pat Buchanan call a delicatessen?
Proof that a Zionist conspiracy wants to take over our food.
Thanks for the link. I always thought he flirted along that line, but I could never nail him on anything.. He seems to carefully select his words. Without studying alot, because frankly, I dont care about him other than to know that I don't agree with him about alot, I'll take Buckley's assesment as correct. He is anti-semetic.
There are many reputable historians who would disagree with your assessment. In any case, when the Nazis declared war on the United States, we were obliged to come to the aid of the Allies.
During the 2000 election, Fulani shocked many when she endorsed Pat Buchanan, then running on the Reform Party ticket. Some papers incorrectly reported that Fulani was Buchanan's running mate, but this position actually belonged to Ezola Foster. Fulani did, however, serve for a time as a campaign advisor. This was seen as a strange meeting of two ends of the political spectrum who had very little in common, though both candidates had previously been accused of anti-semitism. However, both Buchanan and Fulani related in populist language that they represented marginalized groups who were fed up with the two-party system. Fulani later withdrew her endorsement of the Buchanan campaign on the grounds that it had "hijacked" the Reform movement in order to further Buchanan's own right wing agenda. [6] Foster responded by claiming that Fulani was quite clear on Buchanan's objectives both before and while she worked with him. [7]
You are a perfect example of the Pat Buchanan supporters I have encountered. Fess up. You wrote some of those e-mails to Ben now didn't you?
Agreed. And Buchanan agrees with this, too, although you would never know that from the media coverage of his book.
Lenora Fulani was PB's campaign co-chair on the Reform Party ticket. Not good company.
Yes, Fulani walked out of the Reform party when Buchanan got the nomination.
Let's just say, for the sake of argument, that people who actually hate Jews, using the classical definition of "hatred", are examined in other areas. Will you, do you think, find them, ignorant of history and other topics, have a low IQ, incapable of thinking critically about general subjects and arriving by logical reasoning at accurate conclusions?
Ah....yes, like Al Sharpton who always screams racist against anyone who disagrees with him, Shapiro screams antisemite.
I think you can be substantially anti-semetic without fully hating Jews. He certainly doesn't seem to have their best interests at heart. His assessment is pretty absurd. But hate?
Pat Buchanan hurts the conservative movement. He makes stupid, disingenuous and ill-concieved comments and the liberals use him to tar all conservatives with the same brush. I don't know much about Shapiro, but Buchanan takes himself much too seriously and is wrong most of the time. Shapiro is correct in this particular article.
No. But there are many intelligent misogynists, pedophiles, and child pornographers around too. It's just hard to get past their fatal flaw.
