Iran tells Muslims to target U.S., not Denmark, over cartoons
Iran Focus ^ | February 10, 2006

Tehran, Iran, Feb. 10 – A senior Iranian cleric called on Muslims on Friday to direct their fury over cartoons of Islam’s Prophet Muhammad at the United States, rather than Denmark.

When crowds of worshippers in Tehran chanted “Death to Denmark” during his fiery sermon, Tehran Friday prayers leader Ahmad Khatami told them, “We shouldn’t say ‘Death to Denmark’. Denmark is nothing! We must say, ‘Death to America’. It’s the Americans who set up the likes of the Danes”.

Khatami, who is not related to Iran’s former president, accused the European Union of “double standards” in its approach to the publication of cartoons of Islam’s Prophet Muhammad and Iran’s denial of the Holocaust.

“They talk about human rights and freedom of expression, but at the same time they disgustingly insult more than a billion Muslims”, the ayatollah told worshippers in central Tehran.

“They justify this great crime on the grounds of freedom of expression and the stupid Prime Minister of Denmark says that they are willing to pay the price of freedom. But these very countries who claim to respect freedom of expression do not allow the smallest talk about the myths of Holocaust and persecution of the Jews”, he said.

“The United States and European states are taking advantage of human rights, freedom of speech, disarmament, and the International [Atomic Energy] Agency. All of these are being misused. They want to force their rule upon the world through these methods”, the senior cleric said.

Turning to the situation in Iraq, Khatami said that the U.S. had spent a lot in the country “but they got the opposite result. The Iraqi people entered the scene and voted for Islam”.

He said that the victory of the radical Islamist group Hamas in the Palestinian elections was the “most effective blow” to U.S. prestige.

If there were more Moslems, we could insult them as well.

Best to remember that an insult is only good to the degree the target reponds to it.

Odds are these Iranian schmucks have Mohammad pictures hidden under their prayer rugs and think none of us are noticing they worship him like he was some sort of god.

Fiat autos now at play...

http://www.adnki.com/index_2Level_English.php?cat=CultureAndMedia&loid=8.0.263086450&par=0

Tehran, 10 Feb. (AKI) - An Iranian diplomat has targeted Italian daily newspaper La Stampa for reprisals for having republished several of the cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed which have provoked outrage and violence across the Muslim world. "We must prevent the entry of journalists of La Stampa, owned by the FIAT car group, property of Zionists" said Mohammad Hassan Ghadidi Abyaneh, former Iranian ambassador in Australia. Islamists in Iran frequently criticise FIAT, and there is a widely circulated theory that company heir, Edoardo Agnelli, who took his life in January 2000, was victim of a murder plot because he had converted to Islam .

The Turin-based daily is guilty not only of publishing the offending cartoons, according to the diplomat, but of "being a mouthpiece for that Zionism which, to gain control of FIAT killed Edoardo Agnelli." Agnelli plunged to his death from a motorway over bridge near Turin in January 2000.

La Stampa is not the only foreign daily in the sights of the new hardline government. Culture minister Mohammad Hossein Saffar Harandi, have announced new measures against foreign media and journalists who "denigrate the Islamic Republic and offend its leaders".

US Blames Iran, not Muslims in general, for instigating riots.

What the hell are these idiots thinking? I know most of the demonstrations are theater and popular entertainment, but how can they utter non-sequitors like this with a straight face?

Here's an Indian example:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20060210/wl_sthasia_afp/europeislammediaindia_060210124500

"...For 1,400 years, Islam has fought its evil enemies and now it will not bow before the Satanic designs of France, Germany, Norway and Denmark," Bukhari had told his Friday congregation. "Islam and Muslims have been challenged and we will not rest unless nations that humiliated us are punished," he said as protesters set fire to a human-shaped effigy labelled 'Denmark'.""

OK, he might have a point about France, but if what Denmark says about him is "humiliating" he's got a thin skin indeed.

What are we waiting for?

It's clear they're going to take out NYC, Washington, D.C. and whatever other cities they can once they have their nukes.

Russia is not going to work out a deal that spares us. They are enabling the Mullahs to develop their nukes.

We have to go in, and soon.

You said it. Your people kicked their moronic butts out of Europe, and they blame us for that too.

I see you've used Mohammads face, however, the scale more acurately fits the size of the Iranian president.

Have you seen the guy? I was watching something on the news where they showed him walking side by side with Assad from Syria. Talk about size difference. It looked more like Danny Devito next to Larry Byrd.

Its all America's fault. See, we're the Jews of the post-modern world. We are the scapegoats even when we have nothing to do with what happened. But I am happy to know our blessed land is hated by the mullahs - that makes me love her all the more.
