I turned it off when Yoko Oko came on reading the lyrics to "Imagine". That was too much for me....

I thought it was very different, but that's Italy for you.I have never seen a race car in the Olympics before.I love to see them light the flame,I think that's the best part. The music was OK.I think I like the winter olyipmics better than the summer ones. The commercials were also good, like the Super Bowl.

That's the great thing about recordings, people years in the future can still appreciate them.

Haven't seen the commercials but did catch him singing it live either on The Today Show or GMA last week. I got goosebumps.

Here on the west coast the ceremonies just started 10 minutes ago. So far it's terrible and I'm watching a woman and a man dancing in cow outfits. From this thread it sounds like it gets worse! What do you think -- Should I just go to bed now?

"Lennon loved New York City so much, that perhaps if he were still with us, after 9/11 he'd be outraged. You may say I'm a dreamer."
I recall that McCartney was outraged for maybe about a week and then went back to being a liberal.

I remember listening to Mario Lanza when I was a kid. I think we had one or two of his albums. "Be My Love" was one of his best songs.

I live several weeks a year in Italy, so I guess I can relate to it. I'm just surprised there was no strike called in the middle of it.
