Iran Focus

Tehran, Iran, Feb. 11 – Denmark’s foreign ministry announced on Saturday that the country’s ambassador to Iran has left Tehran after receiving credible threats on his life as the row continues over the publication of cartoons of Islam’s Prophet Muhammad in a Copenhagen daily.

The Danish embassy in Tehran had been attacked by hard-line radicals affiliated to the Revolutionary Guards several times earlier this week and its entire staff were forced to evacuate the site.

Parts of the embassy were set on fire as protestors hurled hand grenades and Molotov cocktails at the site and chanted “Death to Denmark”, “Death to America”, and demanded the closure of the embassy.

The Danish Foreign Ministry announced on Saturday that Denmark’s ambassador to Tehran along with the remaining Danish diplomats, had left, fearing “real dangers”.

Copenhagen announced that the Finnish embassy in Tehran would be in charge of Danish interests in Iran until further notice.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight -- it's the size of the fight in the dog. Denmark has teeth.

Never happen. Each country is just too happy to have the islamo eyes off their ball and concentrating on someone else.

Well,

The US pulled out years ago -

But some in the "EU" also like to do a lot of trade with them. So, while the "EU" makes all these harsh statements (Iran is really scared and affected by these “HARSH” statements/sarcasm off) on Iran’s nuclear program they in reality to this date have not even taken any punitive economic action! It’s all "Bla bla bla" in typical European fashion.

If Denmark withdraws the others are likely to see it as an opportunity economically speaking. Iran boycotts Danish products and the political arm is now gone within Iran. Think of the opportunity to gain more market share for the French or some other bottom feeder.

The European sees himself as "Cosmopolitan" but in reality thinks "provincial".

Many in Europe are bottom feeders as France is. They were still selling WEAPONS to Iraq months before wars begin in 2003. Do you think threats to the "life" of a Danish diplomat will provoke an EU reaction? No-

Iran basically allowing Danish diplomats to be threatened and having to withdraw them will be ignored as everything else is. Who was Van Gogh? Mr. Fortuyn? Madrid had a bomb? Gee, London was long ago. France riots – all just misunderstood youths. Cartons obviously need to be censored!

Yep. Hence the reason the EU will never have the unity of the US.

Soo much for EU unity.

Too busy getting sized for their burkas to comment on the matter.

I knew the EU constitution was nothing more than a socialist based set of thuggishly enforced rules written by left elitists to tell western and eastern europe what to do and what to think, and to act as some free trade zone obstructionist counter-weight to what the idiotic french call the "anglo-saxon axis" of the UK and the US.

Denmark is learning what happens when your told to put your trust that the french will have your back in a fight.

The CIA has predicted that the European Union will split up by 2020. Probably Denmark will be one of the first to leave.
