I believe one reason we finally agreed to go along with a test ban is because computer simulations had made actual tests unnecessary.
It seems to me that computer simulations work because the US had built a bunch of nukes before the invention of computers and had years of hands-on experience and tons of data with which to build the simulations once the supercomputers showed up.
Starting from scratch, I can't imagine designing, building and testing a nuke based on computer programs. Think Microsoft!

Iran has been preparing by strengthening air defence systems and building tunnels intended to hide atomic material and facilities from a bombing campaign While they are busy hiding their atomic material and facilities they may be forgetting to hide their leadership, their C&C.

Bush did nothing serious to stop Russia. Clinton did nothing to stop Russia.
Russia was not going to listen. They are there to spite us in the first place.

There WAS another option. That was to get Russia to stop building the damn nuke facilities.
The light water reactor Russia is building is not the problem, and almost worthless for making weapons. Indeed, the EU offered to give Iran one if they would dismantle the heavy water reactor they are building at Arak.

I can't but feel a strong sense of deja vu.
Didn't we just go through this same scenario three years ago ?
It is insanity to repeat the same actions time and again while expecting different results.

How do the Iran Whackkos propose to nuke Israel off the map without taking their partners in terror Palistine out with them?
Or are the Palis considered to be essentially "expendable"?
If Israel wakes up some Morning, looks over the wall, and all the Palis are gone, they might want to hunker down and button up a bit.
And prepare to launch...

Iran probably tested in 1999. However, the device was not a practical military device. What they would test now would be something suitable for aircraft or missile delivery.

It's obvious, that Iran is very close to haveing functioning nuclear bombs
If they do set one off.....will it be clean?
Or supplimented with a massive encasement of TNT.....like India and Pakistan do.
Maybe Iran are screw ups.
If one goes off.....it might be Russian,Chi Com or Pakistani.

well why dont Rumsfeld fire up the trusty Haliburton Weather Machine or create a bunch of earthquakes to have the earth upen up and swallow those nasty nuclear sites eh?

Is that before or after we give up our ports to the Saudi's. What the hell is going on!
By Sher Zieve The United Arab Emirates, a country that has been named in the 9/11 attacks on the United States, has been chosen to manage a number of US shipping ports. The UAE is said to have ties to the Islamic hijackers who affected the 9/11/2001 attacks.
The ports that the UAE will manage include New York, New Jersey, Baltimore, New Orleans, Miami and Philadelphia. The $6.8B deal is expected to be approved on Monday.

British diplomats highlight the chaos that Iran, if attacked, not stopped could unleash in the region through its Shia surrogates in Iraq, Hizbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in the Palestinian territories.

It's great that we're publishing on the internet everything we know about their bomb plans. You couldn't keep a secret in the present age, no matter how hard you tried.Except for JohnFKerry's military records.
