Description:

BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan – The Coalition’s provincial reconstruction team in Zabul Province has provided funding and other resources to repair a Red Crescent Society clinic and a boys’ school damaged in demonstrations Feb. 8.

The demonstrations involved about 400 Afghans, some of whom marched through downtown Qalat, hurling rocks at government facilities.

After assessing the damage, members of the Qalat PRT provided funds for local contractors to make repairs. They also negotiated replacement vehicles for Afghan contractors whose vehicles were destroyed in the violence.

Meanwhile, Zabul’s provincial government is focusing on security and has opened lines of communication with demonstration participants in hopes of avoiding similar incidents.Description:

Replace nothing and let the citizens know why and who is responsible for the loss.
