Hey, thanks! I see my memory didn't serve me well as they appear to have shot her rather than beheading her. Do you suppose they view that as a step toward more civilized treatment of women?

Thanks for the link to Amazon. Looks like a good honest book.

Boycott Italian wines as your personal response to this fine artistic affront. (We ruined the state-sponsored French wine industry by doing that.) Discourage the rich sponsors and let Fallaci draw anti-American doodles on the sidewalk. And stay away from Milan, ugly place anyhow.

"But today's artists, all their braggadocio notwithstanding, only have the guts to attack something safe, to pile on the bandwagon of anti-Western thought and bore yet another generation with their self-loathing cliches."

Well said.

After all, she wasn't represented being beheaded in a burka.

I have tremendous respect for Fallaci. The 'Rage and the Pride' should be required reading.

"Although I find the picture of Fallaci decapitated deeply offensive, I have no plans to attack the Italian embassy," etc.

Of course not. Like all decent people everywhere, you recoil in disgust and that's it.

Frankly, I recoil in disgust at the stupid male blow-up doll that's got the Muslims worked up again.

I also recoil in disgust at female blow-up dolls. I suppose they satisfy some need somewhere...fortunately not mine. (I can think of a helluva better way to spend the energy, time, and money. Most of us can.)

I wasn't referring to Fallaci Beheaded, I was only saying there was room for some more "art" of this type and suggesting that perhaps it would be conscious raising to see a full size representation of the woman in a burka who was being executed as is shown in the picture so kindly posted by EW in post 19. I thought I remember her as being beheaded, however it appears she was shot in the head, hence my question of whether this might be the Muslim effort to portray their treatment of women as improving.
