"I think nearly everyone with a brain in their head understands that."

Nope. Many, many folks here have stated otherwise, which is my objection. It flies in the face of basic gun safety. One poster above said Whittington caused the accident and the VP was "totally innocent." That's just absurd.

I was referring to Willeford - the OTHER person on the hunt.

Perhaps you should take your own advice about how to 'be.'

What is incorrect with that statement by McClellan regarding notification protocol (since Scott was paraphrasing what the witness said)?

I'm not talking about what freepers have said or haven't said about this matter. Especially since there are dozens of threads and not enough time to follow all the comments, or the desire to do so.

What I've objected to is your characterization that the VP's office is blaming Whittington. I've yet to see ANYONE do that in an official capacity.

And Matalin has no official capacity whatsoever, unless I missed it in my google search. If you find otherwise, please provide a link. The link I sent you reflect she left the WH several years ago.

Vp Cheney is a great American and his actions have been 100% honorable in this tragedy. Anybody who thinks otherwise should go back to DU.

I do so love how many folks around here embrace CNN with both arms and legs when it supports something they want to claim.

Tell ya what - go back to CNN, and play the video of Katherine Armstrong standing out by the highway describing what happened. Then you'll understand 'behind.'

Ron Reagan thinks Cheney might have had it in for Mr. Whittington and that it should be investigated. (Talk about vicious.) Ron needs to up his meds.

My goodness folks, he accidently shot someone with some bird shot. What's the big deal?

The big deal is that the MSM is salivating for a big name GOP pol that they can tear down.
1. The Vice President shot someone. That's big.
2. The victim is having medical probelms. That's bigger.
3. If he dies within the year as a result (and now any cardio problem will be seem as a proximate cause), Dick Cheney can actually face involuntary manslaughter charges and jail time. That would be orgasmic for the MSM, and tough for the GOP to claim that the law should not apply to the elites (that's for the Dems and MSM to declare.)

I watched Scott yesterday and thought he was reflecting what the witness had told him (since Scott wasn't there, that's all he could rely on) but couldn't remember. Thanks for having a better memory!

Cheney will spend the rest of his life, second guessing himself and trying to figure out how he could have prevented the accident. There is no indication that Whittington blames Cheney, Armstrong says that she has been hit before, I know several people it's happened to. It sucks, but it's not the earthshattering event the left would have us believe.

Yesterday Ron Reagan thought maybe drinking was involved, despite law enforcement officials saying that no alcohol was involved.

Ronnie is a POS.

When one rejoins the line, yes. When one is coming back to the line and is 30 yards away, most of your hunting partners don't really want you yelling out to them. Quail can, in fact, hear.

This is exactly what I thought had happened. Mr. Whittington is 78, for heaven's sake. Dick Cheney is a gentleman and said little because he wasn't about to blame an elderly friend. Think what the press would have done with that!

Maybe you're right and it's the shooter's fault. but Mr. Whittington is 78, and that might have some bearing on what happened.

No matter what happens the left wing gun nuts have grabbed on to this to try for more gun control....

Oh...yeah....so many senseless killings going on these days by people armed with 28 gauge shotguns loaded with birdshot.
