Complete Olympic Schedule (Presumably updated with Results)
Figure Skating - Gold medal favorite Yevgeny Plushenko of Russia headlines the men's competition, which begins with the short program. Potential American medalists include newcomers Johnny Weir and Evan Lysacek.
Alpine Skiing - Men: New Hampshire's Bode Miller looks to improve upon his silver from 2002 in the men's combined, an event that combines the daring downhill with two runs of slalom.
Speed Skating - Women: The fastest female skaters in the world, including China's Wang Manli, sprint for Olympic gold in the 500m.
Up against Idol ... What to do ... What to do ... :)
And I'm babysitting!
Do you think we stepdaughter will mind if her sons are closing each other up in the dog kennel while I do this??
Watching the ice skating last night, I kept thinking I remembered an incident one time where the woman threw the man for a "triple lutz" or whatever it's called.
Do any of you remember that?
Is this going to be a good Idol? Or one of those pre-season ones? I have to say, I don't care for the beginning of the season.

And BTW ...
It seems like I do == were they East Germans?
Thanks
I'm sorry....really sorry...but I just can't muster up any more enthusiasm for the Oly's...
NBC just plain ruins it all, the hype, the commercials, the inane commentary and plain stuck on stupid attitude.
I can be happy for our American athletes and read about them here...but I ain't gonna watch one more second of coverage on NBC..it's just TOO PAINFUL.
She was first before the three germans came down the track.
She looked so sad.....and she's from the same town as my daughter in CO.
Has anyone here ever been to the Olympics??
I've been to four; '84 LA (last five days), '88 Calgary (last ten days), '96 Atlanta (last ten days), '02 SLC (last five days)...saw Sarah Hughes win in '02 and Boitano win in '88...in a matter of 15 minutes the Delta Center went from heaven to hell watching Hughes performance then Michelle Kwan slip...
My wife is not a big sports fan and she came with me in '02 (we started dating in '98)...as we were coming home she said to me, "you know- everyone should experience the Olympics at least once in their lives"...
Can't tell you how true that is...
We can monitor politics through the media filter. We ought to be able to monitor the Olympics in the same way.
Does anybody know how long NBC's contract for the Olympics is?
I have no idea. I just have this vague recollection...I think it creeped me out.
Thanks for the Medal Count thingy!
Thanks Howlin.
Could someone tell me who the gold medalists were? I'm confined to bed with pneumonia, and I'm sneaking to use my laptop!
Who is this guy? He's good.
Oh, wait. He's having a Tourettes moment!
