Subnani said the injuries were not life-threatening and as the swelling diminishes, the pellets can be pulled out with a small incision. He said an antibiotic was all that was needed to cure the tears in the skin. The doctor said Whittington, about an hour and a half later, was transferred by HALO-Flight to Corpus Christi as a VIP courtesy. "The treatment was started and there was no need to be sent to Memorial hospital," Subnani said. "Except he was part of the VIP party
he got the best royal treatment. If it was a regular citizen like you and I, he would have been sent home."Someone tell this to that screaming queen David Gregory.

Raj Subnani was one of two doctors at the CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Kleberg that first treated Harry Whittington, the avid hunter who was shot by Vice-President Dick Cheney at the Armstrong Ranch. Subnani shows where Whittington was pellet sprayed.

perhaps it was a good thing that he was transferred..
the Doctor on Brit Hume's show was very enlightening regarding the heart incident.
David Gregory is a screaming Queen no doubt, I don't want to hear about the connected wife and subsequent child!

I don't know why everyone is making such a big deal out of this, everyone knew "Tort Reform" was on the Bush-Cheney agenda.
To: Ellesu
Wasn't Alice where the 200 votes mysteriously materialized that allowed Lyndon Baines Johnson (a.k.a. "Landslide Lyndon") to win the 1948 Democratic primary for senator by 87 votes?
To: Ellesu
"If it was a regular citizen like you and I, he would have been sent home." So then why was he put into ICU at Christus Spohn? ICU isn't necessarily VIP treatment. ICU is often done as a precaution as well as a necessity.
Then he has a heart attack.

I want to know when miss Gregory is going to ask the burning question all of America wants to know- did Cheney or did Cheney not hit the quail?

Hey FReepers, and I've been around FReeperland awhile ... this is a PR disaster for the Bushies. This is a classic textbook example of how not to handle a developing highly volatile situation involving a senior level member of the administration. The Bushies, PR wise, screwed up on Katrina and now this ... is it any wonder people are concerned about their handling of the war in Iraq?

Yes, I was born in Alice. It is Jim Wells County, and it was where LBJ's cronies came up with over 250 votes of dead people who voted in aphabethical order. Also, there was a local crook named George B Parr that supported LBJ in this part of Texas that was called "The Duke of Duval." He was very corrupt and finally sent to prison on tax fraud. There was a saying in South Texas that be careful if you ran against Lyndon, that you might be killed. In Alice, a lawyer was killed in his garage one night, who opposed Lyndon.

There is a Texas joke about the traveling salesman that comes home and his wife asked him were he spent the night. He responded halfway between Alice and Victoria (two Texas towns), and got in trouble.

PR? I think if there is anything you can take for granted from this President its that he does'nt pay much attention to polls and he does'nt pander to the media.
What should have FEMA done in the wake of Katrina? Declared marshal law and done all the things that LOCAL GOVERNMENTS ARE SUPPOSED TO DO?
As for Cheney and him shooting this guy while they were hunting together, what possible difference would it have made if they had told the WH press corps on Saturday night instead of Sunday?

"Cheney shooting victim"
The media has been waiting for years to use that in the headline. There's no way they're going to pass up the opportunity.
To: BluH2o
Hogwash.
It's a media story the media is trying to make everyone else give a crap about.
