Muslim countries seek UN resolution to shield religions
A proposal by 57 Muslim countries says that the “defamation of religions and prophets is inconsistent with the right to freedom of expression”.

Beirut (AsiaNews) – The world’s 57 Muslim governments are making good on their word. After announcing their intention to have the United Nations ban mocking religion, they are now pressing to include such a ban in a planned new UN human rights body.

According to the text of the Muslim countries’ proposal, the new body should strive to “prevent instances of intolerance, discrimination, incitement of hatred and violence arising from any actions against religions, prophets and beliefs which threaten the enjoyment of human rights and fundamental freedoms”.

In a clear reference to the Muhammad cartoons controversy, the proposal says that “defamation of religions and prophets is inconsistent with the right to freedom of expression”.

To achieve this goal, Egypt for example is trying to persuade the European Union to support the ban. After talks with EU foreign affairs chief Javier Solana in Cairo, Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmad Aboul Gheit said the proposal on banning defamation of religions was discussed.

Al-Azhar Sheikh Mohammad Sayed Tantawi, Sunni Islam’s highest religious authority, told Solana that that the resolution should include “sanctions” that deter.

Solana refused to say whether a resolution would be presented to the General Assembly, but noted instead that a mechanism is under study that would reconcile the principles of a common declaration made by the EU, the UN and the Organisation of the Islamic Conference.

The OIC is the largest voting block inthe UN and is the political arm of the global jihad, and its function is to serve as cover for their jihadis and protect them:

Terrorism's Silent Partner at the United Nations

Terrorism As a Right

With the Organization of the Islamic Conference defending any act committed on behalf of "national liberation," the United Nations cannot even issue an unequivocal condemnation of terrorism, let alone join the struggle to eliminate it...

The reason for this failure is that the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), which comprises fifty-six of the UN's 191 members, defends terrorism as a right...

Part of their own declared agenda includes:

1. Strengthen:
a) Islamic solidarity among Member States;
b) Cooperation in the political, economic, social, cultural and scientific fields:
c) The struggle of all Muslim people to safeguard their dignity, independence and national rights.

2. Coordinate action to:
a) Safeguard the Holy Places;
b) Support the struggle of the Palestinian people and assist them in recovering their rights and liberating their occupied territories.

No prizes for guessing what that last one means.

What we have here, is their own official to further their jihad by political and financial means, while undermining the kuffar at their own UN by voting as a block. They ignore the UN Declaration of Human rights whenever they see fit, and came up with their own rules, in effect conceding that islam is not compatible with human rights no matter how much lip service they pay to agreements.

...It is clear that Islamic militants are quite aware of the incompatibility of Islam and The 1948 Declaration of Human Rights. For these militants met in Paris in 1981 to draw up an Islamic Declaration of Human Rights which left out all freedoms that contradicted Islamic law...

In 1990 the IDHR became the "Cairo Declaration on Human Rights in Islam," and was backed by the OIC itself. Essentially, the OIC picks up the ball from the terrorists and all those "misunderstanders of Islam" trying an attempt at plausible deniability, but not doing a good job of it.

Their aim of "coordinating action" to "safeguard the Holy Places" is in effect a declaration of acting as the saud/wahhabis international political arm to keep the hijaz under wahhabi control to legitimize their vile message as the custodians of the holy sites.

The only reason they want to unity in the islamic ummah is so they can build the strength to undermine and defeat us "filthy kuffar" once and for all.

Or as they say in the islamic world, "First the Saturday people and then the Sunday people."

Maybe we're all barking up the wrong tree, or maybe we're just all screamin at some little leaf on the tree. We need to find out who the tree is and chop it down at it's base. The tree laughs every time it hears us scream "Get us outta the un!"

There's A proposal by 57 Muslim countries says that the “defamation of religions and prophets is inconsistent with the right to freedom of expression”???

OK, if the ban extends to all languages including Arabic, Farsi, and other languages used by predominantly Muslim Nations!!!

They Can't Have It Both Ways!!!

But of course there's still the matter of the US Congress Ratifying a UN Treaty that Countermands the 1st Amendment to the US Constitution. Might be a questionable issue at that...

Some people can't take a joke.

An accurate joke, as it happens.

We hade that in Serbia from 1945 to this day.
Communists imposed "protection" of Muslims, and noone caould even raise voice on a musilm, cuse he would be proclaimed by communist regime a "Shovinnist" or "Nacionalism spreader". You couldn`t sing Serbian national songs, and than came a silent bann on Serbian national Cyrilic letters, cause

1. Songs are said to be offensive to Muslims (although there were no muslim in 200 km range)
2. Serbian Cyrilic letters were "Muslims were not familiar with Serbian Cyrilic".

Same crap. Europe is going communist.

A proposal by 57 Muslim countries says that the “defamation of religions and prophets is inconsistent with the right to freedom of expression”.

Will they accept this prohibition regarding Jews?

Will the Turks ban the movie showing American doctors shipping living Iraqi's organs to Israel?

Of course the ban would only apply to the one true religion, Islam. Christianity and Judaism can still me mocked as much as possible. This is Muslim 'thinking'.

"A proposal by 57 Muslim countries says that the “defamation of religions and prophets is inconsistent with the right to freedom of expression”.

So does this mean that Christians will be allowed to practice Christianity with in these 57 countries unimpeded and with out fear of persecution?

I think not, this one more lie that Muslims expect us to swallow.

"Interesting way to phrase it: "religions, prophets and beliefs which threaten the enjoyment of human rights and fundamental freedoms”.

Are they saying people will have the freedom to practice and share religions other than theirs in their nation-prisons without threat of arrest and death?

While they're at it, how about allowing Bibles into Saudi Arabia? And allowing the building of Christian churches?

I await their inaction.

What are they going to do when they discover the law also applies to Muslim states that mock the religion of others?
