I know the Tour de France has a rule that crashes do not count in the last 1000 meters, but her the loss was entirely justified.

I'll come clean first. I've been lying low here these past few months, stepping aside to allow writers with greater access and better information to daily deconstruct the Bush Administration and the surround neoconservative criminal conspiracy. There was no way a part-time entertainment producer and fulltime boxing commentator could match the kind of work Arianna and countless others have put forth here, and I stand in awe of them.

The fix is SO IN. I was incredibly PO'd this afternoon when I found out... The whole U.S. figure skating team is likely to consist of sixth and seventh place failures. (Yes even Evan... You ACTUALLY have to skate two good programs to win a medal).

Right now I'm incredibly PO'd at the entire U.S. team. The Olympics is about the Americans winning lots of medals, something which they ain't doing. (If it wasn't for the sport we made up, we'd have about THREE right now).

Some things never change and judging ice dancing is one of them.

I remember when Torville and Dean were punished for a lift that was a milimeter too high or some such garbage.

But that doesn't mean that it isn't incredibly sad. Frankly, the fact that B & A are going to be sixth place losers despite their awesomeness (wait until you see their OD) is an incredible letdown. Why would someone even want to get up and compete each day if you know that you're going to be raped by the judges afterward?

It is those very hot dogging qualities that got Lindsay to her current #1 in the world position in snowboarding.

I felt that her interview last night and the general tsk tsking that was going on by the commentators was so uncalled for.

It's like NBC was all collectively hand wringing and "if Only'ing" while Lindsay was trying to enjoy her 2nd place win - nothing to sneeze at.

Who cares if she crashed at the end of her run? She is a gutsy, beautiful young athlete who put it all on the line for her sport and for her country. And I hated watching the dissing of her, to her face by Bob Costas, while she was trying to enjoy the fact that she did awesome overall, and got a medal, but nobody wants to praise her for it.

I praise her, for her lifetime of fearless competition, training, and willingness to compete in a sport that put several snoboarders in the hospital yesterday.

She deserves to be mocked, hope it makes her a stronger person.

Deserves to be mocked??? That just strikes me as a tad over the top. She is a world class athlete who gave it her all, and instead of being praised all anyone on NBC could talk about was her mistake. It just nauseates me. And I think the hamming is not bad sportsmanship, it is just the way the sport is played. here is my blog entry on the race... Jenny "I was having fun," she said.
