Nah, I like it to the CDB - This is a flag, not a rag and we don't wear it on our head.

Ms. Coulter usually makes the conservative case with principle and passion, in a memorable, often wickedly funny way. But sometimes she is thoughtless instead of thoughtful, in her zeal.

It's called "collateral damage."

DEAL WITH IT!

Boy, the Dems can dish it out but they sure can't take it. I agree that Ann is sometimes an over the top bomb thrower, but she learned it from the left side of the aisle. What makes Ann noticable is that she is really the only National conservative commentator who has this go for the jugular approach. Virtually EVERY democratic commentator uses this approach and much, much worse. I rarely read a liberal editorial that doesn't consist merely of the most vile insults imaginable at President Bush and all conservatives. That's all the Dems have at this point. Before he goes throwing stones at Ann, I think the author should work on cleaning up his own house.

...Mohammed was really a lying charaltan and 72 virgins all look like Helen Thomas.

LOL. It never occurred to me to think that maybe there is a REASON the 72 are still virgins.

Steven M. Warshawsky's "In Defense of Ann Counter" is a well-meant, but misguided attempt to rally conservatives automatically behind Ann Coulter, even when she goes too far.

Do these people not understand they are what those pedantic little $h!ts that insisted on informing everyone else "Lief Ericsson actually discovered America," grew up to be?

I'm favoring "Mohammedans" as the thing to call Muslims--it's accurate, and angers them by pointing to the fact they follow a man, while they claim to submit to God. It also has a long tradition of use: Churchill's notable frenzy and fatalism description of Islam calls them Mohammedans.

GMTA, though frankly, I refuse to capitalize the name.

Anne's great comment on the V-P:

"Cheney is my ideal man. Because he's solid. He's funny. He's very handsome. He was a football player. People don't think about him as the glamour type because he's a serious person, he wears glasses, he's lost his hair. But he's a very handsome man. And you cannot imagine him losing his temper, which I find extremely sexy. Men who get upset and lose their tempers and claim to be sensitive males: talk about girly boys. No, there's a reason hurricanes are named after women and homosexual men, it's one of our little methods of social control. We're supposed to fly off the handle. "

Ms. Coulter on killing former President Clinton: (Responding to a question from a Catholic University student about her biggest moral or ethical dilemma) "There was one time I had a shot at Clinton. I thought 'Ann, that's not going to help your career.'"

LOL. Of course, only people with a sophisticated sense of humor will appreciate it.

You don't even have to go that far. Just go to almost any post at DU (or other leftist websites, like MoveOn.org). You'll inevitably see the most filthy, vile, sexually degrading, disgusting words imaginable used in "routine" speech. They seem to absolutely revel in their own vileness. Those scumbags use profanity in the way most people use ordinary speech. I have a feeling most leftists do this because they are, at heart, juveniles, and using what they think is "grown up" language makes them feel like they are more mature than what they are.

But compared to those people, at DU, and elsewhere, the "strong language" Ann uses is pretty polite and innocuous.

"Ann Coulter, even when she goes too far"

I never read her "going too far". When it comes to excess, the Demoncrat Senators have the market cornered.

Let's face it, the conservative movement's pundits are generally prudes. Ann stands out because she is not a prude. She fights fire with fire. The debate rhetoric of most conservative pundits can be likened to liberals attempts to treat foreign transnational terrorists legalistically, rather than as a military objective.

Absolutely correct, and even worse. For decades I've heard leftists, all of them reeking with hypocrisy, level the most vile insults, accusations and invective imaginable against any, and all, conservatives, while posturing as sensitive, tolerant, moral and compassionate people. Over the years, their verbiage has only steadily become increasingly heinous - so much so, as to continually force us to redefine the word. One immediately recalls poisonous and hysterical rants by Al Gore, Howard Dean, Chris Matthews, Al Franken, Barbra Streisand, or various commentators on CNN, et.al., or the verbal assault on Michelle Malkin, and so many other conservative pundits, just to name a few people and situations - all of which stagger the mind, but about which these self-righteous liberals feel no compunction. (Since they smugly think all emanations from their brains are "right," they it's proper and normal to browbeat conservatives).

Ann Coulter IS a caustic, conservative columnist. It's what she does. About 99% of the time, she's dead on, even with her wickedly humorous illustrations. She merely gives the left a very, very small does of the same formula they use on us all the time - and with the facts to back up her asssertions that the libs' diatribes completely lack.

Re: Ann stands out because she is not a prude.

I've given this a lot of thought. The democrats always want to tell their female followers that they can only talk about what they call "womens issues".

What that term means for them is killing babies.

Ann Coulter, and so many other proud conservatives, thankfully, are not bound by this construct.

Once you realize that we are all abortion survivors, having survived the tyranny our parents had over us when we where still unborn, you have no choice but to be pro-life.
