Amen to that.
The hubris of this movement is truly breathtaking. The vista of unintended consequences that will ensue as "fallible humans" attempt to engineer "superior humans" has been pretty thoroughly explored by science fiction writers for at least a generation now. But I doubt they have even scratched the surface.
I doubt any of us can come up with all the quite probable consequences that will ensue as "fallible, feeble humans" fumble and grope to bypass the natural order and impose on human developement what they think are superior standards. God help us all.

You need to understand that to the people who wrote the article in this thread consider use a pair of glasses to see better violates 'the natural order'.

And the negative effects of tweaking the genome may not be seen for many generations. Or when two "created/modified" humans have children, or their children have children...
Ironically, there may be a point when humans are not allowed to have children naturally because the resulting child will probably have serious birth defects. Humans may not be able to sustain ourselves as a species and we will become extinct.
