Give me a break! I know zillions of alcoholics, myself included. Why do you think I drive a taxi? I have declared bankruptcy 2 times, I have lost a quarter of a million bucks in savings in divorce proceedings, I am divorced two times, I pay child support so much that I have to work 7 days a week, yet not once has suicide ever entered into my mind. If anything, booze throws your mind in the opposite direction of suicide. If you were straight I can imagine going towards suicide because of taking problems too seriously. I don`t know ANY alcoholics who ever committed suicide, yet I know about 3 straight people who have. The fact is people in their 20`s drink, and they drink their arses off, but they sure as hell don`t commit suicide. Brit may accept drinking as the reason, but I sure as hell don`t especially after examining the Clinton history of suicides.
Please, how about just leave it alone out of respect for Brit? There's something you aren't getting here. You have mail.
Well, that explains why you're so crazy, but it doesn't explain why you're so ignorant. You don't know any alcoholics who have committed suicide? Please. I'm a recovering alcoholic and I've known quite a few who have. You really are an alcolohic...you know how I know that? You see the world only through things you can relate to. Please, you're really looking foolish and I beg you to stop.
2) Just because you don't know any alcoholics who committed suicide, doesn't mean there are none. You have an exceptional egocentric way of looking at the world. Apparently, if something doesn't exist in your life, it doesn't exist anywhere.

Suicide rates are highest among Whites and second highest among American Indian and Native Alaskan men (CDC 2004).
Suicide is the third leading cause of death among young people ages 15 to 24. Of the total number of suicides among ages 15 to 24 in 2001, 86% were male.

History of mental disorders, particularly depression
History of alcohol and substance abuse
Family history of suicide
Family history of child maltreatment
Feelings of hopelessness
Impulsive or aggressive tendencies
Barriers to accessing mental health treatment
Loss (relational, social, work, or financial) Physical illness
Easy access to lethal methods
Unwillingness to seek help because of the stigma attached to mental health and substance abuse disorders or suicidal thoughts
Cultural and religious beliefs—for instance, the belief that suicide is a noble resolution of a personal dilemma Local epidemics of suicide
Isolation, a feeling of being cut off from other people
