The week that was at the White House (David Gregory "blogs" his side of story)
MSNBC ^ | 2/17/06 | David Gregory

Posted on 02/18/2006 4:31:49 AM PST by frankjr

It's been a rough and tumble week in the White House press room over the Cheney hunting story. Many viewers have written me with praise and plenty of criticism about my questioning of press secretary Scott McClellan.

Let me say at the outset that I was wrong to lose my temper at Scott McClellan. I've worked well with Scott since we first met during the 2000 campaign. Monday, he suggested my aggressive questioning about the disclosure of the hunting accident was a stunt for the cameras. He said this during a morning OFF CAMERA briefing, which undercut his point. Furthermore, I considered it a cheap shot. I said, "Don't be a jerk to me personally, just answer the question." I regret saying that because it's never appropriate to speak that way and because it created a distraction from the issues at hand.

Putting that aside, I do not apologize for asking tough questions about this story. I'm in the business of getting information -- as much of it as possible....I have not made any judgments about the facts of this story as it pertains to what happened on the Armstrong ranch....Mr. Cheney, in my view, acted as if he had something to hide.

Yet the debate playing out in the blogosphere, cable airwaves and on talk radio pits the Vice President against an allegedly left-wing, overly cynical, prissy White House press corps in a tizzy because it wasn't the first to know and angry because it hates the President and Vice President anyway. This is nonsense....Have you Googled transcripts from the Clinton administration at the height of the Lewinsky scandal?

I can't wait for President Bush's next White House news conference to see how he snubs David Gregory. (if he is there)

That sentence you highlighted should be shown to every journalist who claims there is no leftist agenda in the MSM.

They are so enclosed in their bubble that they no longer can see the contradictions. That is why they consider themselves moderates and unbiased.

David Gregory is best summed up as Whorealdo Light with a little bitchy Lawrence "Creepy Lying Liar" O'Donnell mixed in.

Dip Grandstander, have you looked at the state your industry is in? Despite a great economy your industry is rapidly going bankrupt. It is NOT going bankrupt because large number of people AGREE with your daily prissy fits of vastly overinflated ego. Grow up you twit. You acted like a petulant child and owe Scott McClellan and your fellow "Journalists" an abject apology for your complete inability to act with even a modicum of professionalism.

David's knickers are obviously STILL in a knot ... probably damp, too.

It sure does sound like David's been catching a little flak about his behavior this week, doesn't it?

Pampers--I love it.

I may not be the first to suggest this, but somebody in DC dial 911 and get the girly-man a Waaaahmbulance.

THe press, the libs, the DUmmies all have a fatal flaw in their thinking. If they can construct a motove, they consider that proof, regardless of the lack of evidence.

For example, Bush went to war because Sadam tried to kill his father. Revenge is a motive. But where's the evidence? Sadam's still alive. Can they at least point to something? Evidence for that motive could be a remark he made to someone that supports the revenge motive, orders to not take Sadam alive, assigning Sadam's capture to a secret unit....

That his bunker was targeted first and the timeline advanced to do so has other legit explainations, like decapitation of Iraq's leadership. An army without a headquarters can be bypassed.

Anyway, keep that in mind next time you read DU, Michael Moore or the others. They consider motive eqivalent to evidence.

I was calling him Dick Gregory too. Now was it a mistake or a subliminal comment?

I think the more accurate phrase would be;

"David the DICK Gregory"

Think I'll mail it to the NBC News Booth at the White House.

That'll mean that the rest of the occupants of the bull pen will get to see his mail deliveries.

The guy has destroyed himself and done a LOT of damage to the "press".

Well, to do much damage to destroy yourself, you really need to have credibility first, so the damage to the "press" will be minimal at best.

As for Gregory, Whoraldo found a gig at Fox with his breathless reporting. I guess Gregory can bounce back from his national embarrassment too.

Everyone in the country is laughing at the WH press corps.

Well, the good news is: the half of the country that is so clueless as to not to know who the VP is, now knows who Dick Cheney is.

A bad shot...............

At the risk of being banned by the mods, it needs to be said.

David Gregory is a flaming asshole.

There, it's said. Now, I feel much, much better.

Dang, wish I'd thought of the dollar store. Those Pampers were expensive. I only sent him a few though. I'm sending the rest to CNN for their boo hooing over Brit getting the story with Cheney.

I think I'll go to the dollar store this weekend and stock up on baby stuff and mail it out to these morons every time they act like this. Well, not every time, I'd have to get a second job to afford that much stuff. LOL!
