Remember the russian vehicles that got blowed up real nice right at the start of the war?

The one attempting to flee in to Syria?

Interesting... the whole 'there were no WMD' is looking shakier and shakier by the day.

There are what, 4 or 5 seperate angles on this now all pointing in the same direction.

Bush seems to be mroe concerned with Iran than fighting old battles, but the info is still leaking out slowly it seems.

Evan Bayh has NEVER run an election as a Democrat. You NEVER see his party affiliation on any of his campaign ads.

"I cannot trust the man."

Fortunately, lots of Dems and most of the hard left feel the same way.

David Gregory is on MTP Roundtable!

Yes, and he apologized, sort of, for his behavior. This roundtable is hysterical. Oh, they even have a clip of Cankles about how secretive this Admin is. LOLOL.

FNS is moving to the so-called "selling the ports" story. Let's see if they can get the facts right. I doubt it. It has to do with business, geography and economics. Places were Fox can come completely off the rails.

They are mad call the press before the ambulance is in essence what they are saying plus violate all privacy rights of Harry Whittington with blow by blow accounts of his health before the doctors have actually confirmed anything.

Hitlery saying the administraion is not leveling with us. What a slap in the face to all of us. She is the last person who should insult our common sense.

I think the media somehow think that the VP is not human.

***

I think the media see Cheney and/or people who hunt as less than human. There was no rational thought for what anyone who hurts a companion feels in the aftermath.

If Cheney had had a traffic accident that injured someone would the press corps have expected him to hold a press conference immediately after the crash.

No - because they could all internalize what it would be like to have a traffic accident and hurt someone. They have absolutely no feeling for what it would be like to have a hunting accident.

Hence the disconnect, and irrational frenzy.

Peggy Noonan 's angry that Bush is not consulting her for speeches.

Administration seems to relish media's anger - At least one reporter gets it right.

To many on the outside, it looked like a mistake when Vice President Dick Cheney failed to notify the White House press corps first of his shooting accident. But in the White House, it reflected a strategy of marginalizing the press.

More than ever, the Bush White House ignores traditional news media and presents its message through friendly alternatives, such as talk-show hosts Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity.

And when a reporter appears belligerent in a televised confrontation with the White House spokesman, as NBC's David Gregory did this week, the imagery helps the administration turn the story into one about the press, which energizes a Republican base that hates the media anyway.

The conventional media hurt their own credibility, of course. High-profile embarrassments, such as CBS's Dan Rather using forged documents to blast Bush, and Jayson Blair of The New York Times making up stories, eroded trust. And polls have documented that newsroom professionals are more liberal, and much less conservative, than the general public.

Still, more than any of its predecessors, Bush's team has learned to deal with the media on the White House's terms. This week Limbaugh echoed the White House line, proclaiming: "This is not about Dick Cheney. It's about the media."

This White House isn't afraid to anger the press. Rather, it appears to relish it. (Read it in full.)

Maura has an interesting take -- blaming the legs of this story on the late night humor guys (leno, et al). Trying to take the pressure off the raging press. Too funny.

Because many in the press can't take responsibility for their own actions

Leno and Letterman are comedians .. NOT journalist ... plus most people don't stay up to watch them.. they do watch the evening news

Many in the media acted childish and very unprofessional

And the fact they are continuing with this story is beginning to be scary .. like they are about becoming postal with their rage

Russert showing a clip of Hillary complaining about how secretive the administration is and how they don't level with the American people.

If someone on that panel doesn't talk about how the Clinton administration didn't level with people about the Travel office firings, Whitewater, Chinese being given technology illegally, etc.

Gregory: We did miss some empathy this week for the VP. We missed that a little bit. (ya think). I was pleased to see the VP speak publicly this week.

It appears the groundwork is being laid for additional action in the region. There is a reason it is called the "Global War on Terror".
