Correct. And that Russert would even ask the question "did the media go too far" in his show promo tells me they've felt the sting. They know damn well they went to far and this is their attempt to save their ass with most of Americans.

Correct again when you say "too late."

Furthermore, I want to see the questions and the internals of this morning's Time poll that suggest Cheney should have taken responsibility sooner.

In the absence of any pressing news these days — other than Iran's nuclear weapons development crisis, the election of Hamas terrorists in Palestine, on-going worldwide Muslim riots and killing in reaction to a cartoon, Al Gore's near sedition while speaking in Saudi Arabia, the turning over of our East Coast ports to be managed by a United Arab Emirates firm, the criminal leaking of vital NSA secrets to the New York Times, Mexican military incursions across our southern border, the Iraqi crisis, Congress's refusal to deal with the developing financial collapse of Social Security and Medicare, inter alia — the White House press corps has exploded in righteous fury over the question of the vice president's little shooting party last weekend.

There was a good one on Leno's show... the VP digitized into the intro of 'The Rifleman”... video/audio... not just a still.

For those too young to remember... it was Chuck Connors walking down the street firing his Winchester as fast as he could pump the lever. It was great!

What a dumb clymer. Schieffer focuses on the "too secretive" talking point...he is just so transparent. Tries to present himself as serious, and instead makes himself look idiotic. Typical.

Agree completely. I hate to use the word hate, but I hate news people like him.
