Israel television's Channel 2 News showed images Sunday night of an auditorium filled with well-dressed students at the University of Tehran.
The students were shown photos and videos of international terrorist attacks and given three choices: to be drafted as suicide bombers against the state of Israel, as suicide bombers to defend Iran, or as a suicide bomber to kill Salman Rushdie, who has an Iranian death sentence on his head for the publication of his book The Satanic Verses.
On the stage was a sign in English, Hebrew, Arabic and Persian. The text in all languages said the same thing: "Israel must be wiped off the map."
A student leader of the organization that set up the recruitment event said that they currently have 1,000 loyal and trained suicide bombers, with another 5,000 on a waiting list.

I saw a snippet of this on Fox today... There is no doubt in my mind that if we do not act fast on this Tehran terror campaign it will gain momentum and will eventually spill into the streets of the U.S.

Certainly a threat to Israel, though Israel has defeated this threat before.
Similar threats have been made against the US. We're in a much weaker position to guard against attacks at restaurants, hotels, shopping centers and train stations. I hope someone in the administration is listening.

I think I'd take the "defend Iran choice" - there won't be much chance for them to be useful when cruise missiles come in.

Of course its the Religion of Peace. The mainstream media tells us that it is. President Bush assures us that it is.
How could you possibly think otherwise?
I think both Bush and Blair...in fact, ALL western leaders, need to accept the violent reality of Islam. Islam is a death cult that could place the entire planet back in the middle ages if it spreads as it has been and God forbid prevails.
Any religion that advocates and glorifies murder is a threat to us all. We need to get past this political correctness insanity and see our enemies for what they are.
They seem to be reviving the fatwah against Rushdie. My guess is the cartoons reminded them they had some unfinished business in Europe to attend to.

It is worth noticing that among Iranian muslims, openess to peace is in direct inverse proportion to their religious commitment. Those that want peace are secular, or on the fringe of Islamic life. The epicenter of hate in Iran is the mosques, especially the big mosques. We need to wake up to this fact.
The one good thing, is that there are many millions of Iranians that are secular, non-muslim or only nominally muslim. May they find strength in these difficult times. ......And may their numbers grow.
Blair isn't our president. For the time being were stuck with the coward.

I have to agree with this. We need to reject racism and the hatred by which we ourselves are tempted, but we also need to be wise about the twisted power of the haters in this world.
