I'm surprised Virginia made #5 in that survey. Our roads are pretty good, but I've seen better (Georgia, for one). And Ohio made #4? What are those truckers smoking?

Where Virginia does need work is Interstate rest facilities. There's stretches of I-81 where there's 110+ miles between rest areas. And what rest areas there are, compared to other states, are horrible; small, cramped, dirty, falling apart.

But they need to squeeze us for $4 billion to pave over yet more of the DC suburbs. Right.

I'm surprised at Virginia being on the list too. Roads in Virginia tend to be poorly marked and they hardly ever use cat-eyes. In poor visibility you literally have to feel your way along on some of these roads.
