Why do you think the whole "Taxation without representation" issue was so huge?

Because an entire continent was being shut out of the process. Voting was regarded (properly) by the founders the same way the second amendment is regarded (disingenuously) by modern liberals: as a collective right, rather than an individual right.

collective right? Hmmmm, sounds fishey to me but perhaps that was the logic used by racist crackers in the South to deny blacks the ability to vote.
