While you're technically correct, congratulations on hijacking the thread so early. Hijacking? I think not.My comment pointed out, quite effectively, the hypocrisy of the medical profession when it claims that they cannot participate in executions because of the "first,do no harm" principle while abortion mills flourish in this country.
And for the record,I know something about the medical field. In fact,I'm acquainted with a physician who was a co-author of a piece in a major medical journal claiming that 1)any execution that isn't closely supervised by a physician is "cruel and unusual punishment" 2)the Hypocratic Oath absolutely forbids any physician from participating in executions in any way and those who do should lose their medical license and 3)in light of items #1 and #2,the death penalty is,in fact, forbidden by the our Constitution because it *always* represents "cruel and unusual punishment".

"death by starvation....the courts have already ruled that this is humane and not cruel or painful........."
The courts have no idea what it's like to starve. Personally? I've been there. It's not euphoric. It's agonizing. Tell you what, though. Skip your meals for the next three days, drinking enough water to keep you semi-functioning. Do it over a weekend so your employer doesn't fire you. Then post back here on Sunday night and let the rest of the class know how euphoric you feel.
And I say "you," simply because there's no reasonable way to get the courts that issued this bonehead statement to skip their steak night.

Let's just go back to hanging, firing squad, or whatever other methods of execution were used when the Eight Amendment was adopted.
Of course the "living Constitution" crowd would never go for that.

I envy riders from Texas. You can shake off this nonsense with a ride nearly every day.

"I have to admit, the doctors have a good case. First do no harm would seem to preclude making a buck off of executions." This is exactly why this method of execution should never have been chosen. It was destined to be problematic from the get-go.

You know, to our founders, "Cruel and Unusual Punishment" was being drawn and quartered, with a limb tied to each of four horses who were running away from YOU in opposite directions. Execution against a wall? Pufft! Line 'em up and shoot 'em? Hanging? Texas justice...just make sure the rope is short enough the cursed bastard doesn't have time to dance.
We are such pansies today. For what this guy did, hand me a rifle as long as I am one of several shooting (and I'm not even a gun owner.) And if he hangs, I'll put the lever.

Defense attorneys had claimed last week that the use of the lethal injection was cruel and unusual punishment, barred by the Constitution Lethal injection is cruel and unusual punishment and rape and murder is what, a walk in the park?????????? This SOB NEEDS to feel pain, more pain than he caused this 17 year old when he was raping, terrorizing and murdering her. As for the two anethesiologists, if you can't do the job, get out of the profession.

Looking at it that way, you are right. We should go back to a nice, clean gallows that anyone can run. Or fire up "Old Sparky!"

That is only if you want to take it as read that the Constitution requires a medical doctor to be present when the sentence is carried out. That is a more recent "requirement" cooked up to make bleeding hearts happy. I think the Founding Fathers would have been baffled at why you would want to keep a doctor up so late up night when they should have rounds to make the next day.

Deep thoughts by Sandbar:
Why are abortion doctors typically anti-death penatly.
Another Deep Thought:
Why are vegetarians pro-abortion?

I'd imagine it's a reference to the Terry Schiavo case, and whether removing her feeding tube amounted to murder or letting her die on her own. A ridiculous stance, in my opinion, as one is synonomous with the other.

Why are vegetarians pro-abortion? And for that matter, why are "animal rights activists" always pro abortion?

No, he didn't kill Polly Klaas.
From the article:
Morales, 46, was sentenced to death in 1983 for the murder and rape of Terri Winchell of Lodi, California.

So? Go back to firing squads. Then all you need is a doctor to count the bullet holes and declare him dead. It would still be more humane than the method this animal used to murder this girl. And why did the fag boyfriend of the half-fag boyfriend of the girl only receive a life sentence. If not for him, the crime would never have happened.
I guess the lesson to be learned here is for females to beware if you suspect your guy might swing both ways.
