Pakistan will stand by China against US siege, says Rashid
BEIJING: Pakistan will stand by China if the US ever tries to besiege it, Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has said. He said this while talking to a private television channel in Beijing on Wednesday.
Rashid said that President Pervez Musharrafs visit to China will open new avenues of development and cooperation between the two countries in all sectors. Pakistan and China have signed 42 bilateral agreements during the presidents current visit, 13 of which have been reached at the government level and 27 are between the traders and entrepreneurs of both countries.
These accords are aimed at boosting cooperation in economy, defence, trade and the social sector. The information minister said that Pakistan and China are jointly manufacturing an F-17 thunder combat aircraft. He said that the test-flight of a second combat plane, an F-10, is scheduled for today (Thursday).
He said that Musharraf told the Chinese leadership that Pakistan wanted full membership of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). He said that Russian President Vladimir Putin, due to visit China next month, along with the Chinese leadership will help Pakistan acquire SCO membership. Cooperation of other SCO members Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will also be sought, he said.
The president also expressed condolences for the killing of three Chinese engineers in Balochistan, he said. agencies
As we send money to Pakistan, and jobs to China.
Riiiight.
Note to self: try to keep up better. You missed the U.S. invasion of Venezuela and now the siege of China. Subscribe to a new newspaper.
I didn't know we were besieging China.
This is what we get for not putting the smackdown on France. The world has learned that there is no price to be paid for betraying the US openly and repeatedly... so why should we expect anything different from any other country?
Pakistan got its nuclear know-how from China and North Korea. When the dust settles, China and Pakistan will be firmly in an anti-American alliance. Our friends in that neighborhood will be India and Japan.
And so, another alleged "ally" in the middle east goes by the wayside. Sigh.
Besiege China? What is that guy smoking?
Yep.
Perhaps what Ahmad is saying is that the U.S. should strengthen its ties to India.
Send the hellfire drones in with impunity. If the Paks scramble aircraft towards afghanistan then they will die in a horribly lopsided battle.
This shouldn't suprise anyone. I wouldn't trust half of our "allies" Most are friends when it is convenient. We know who will stand by us for the big games.
When push comes to shove --- I doubt there will be ANY Muslim nation, especially Arab Muslim nation that will go out of their way to aid the U.S..... Those that are "working" with us now - is to THEIR benefit and advantage.. I don't read any real or lasting "friendship" in this behavior.
They want to do business with us, and gain access to what is available here --- but they of our destruction and the expansion of the Islamic "world"....
We still need to be polite to everyone in that area, but have a plan and means in place to react with extreme violence when necessary.
Semper Fi
Pakistan disgusts me.
We should take out AQ Khan with a cruise missile.
but but.... I thought Pakistan was our ally !
*rolls eyes*
never trust a muslim.
I met a Pakistani Christian when I worked in Qatar back in 2000. He told me never to trust a Pakistani muslim. He said that they may be your friend for 20 years and then one morning he will wake up and put a knife between your ribs.
Why?! Let's just give India the GREEN LIGHT to go in with impunity and squash them like flea.
