Similar to Mrs. Bush suggesting that opposition to Harriet Miers' nomination might be sexist.
I agree with Orin and others who see this as a political fiasco. There's a lot of tone-deafness around, trying to make it about the merits of the deal and the merits of the UAE.
It's a political matter, and the Democrats win if we have no better response than pedantic economic lectures, stubbornness and sneering at people because they don't know Maersk crates from Mogen Davids.
The Republicans and the Bush administration are being mugged by the Dems, and "moon the mugger" is not a very intelligent response.
