Actually grits if they are cooked correctly are really good. I suggest either go with the "cream of wheat" eating style... IE sugar and milk or Butter Salt and Pepper.
Or you could mix grated cheese in them as well.... all depends on your preferences..
If grits are cooked incorrectly then they truly are unpalatable and the consistency of paste of worse. however you can salvage even these by forming them into small "silver dollar" grit cakes and frying them up in some bacon fat....or real butter and serving them like hash browns...
