I believe God is a good enough creator that when he popped the primeval monobloc out of nothingness, he put enough 'english' on it to have everything unfold the way he wanted it to.

The idea of worshiping a God so incompetent that he has to keep nudging his creation to get it to perform up to specs is preposterous.

It makes him sound as incompetent as a pool player who has to hustle around the table nudging the ball to make a triple bank shot.

That's one view. Mine differs: I find in Scripture that God intervenes in history because He loves us -- not because He forgot to put the right English on us.

Good pool players don't play triple bank shots. They play each ball in it's turn -- if a bank is needed that's not a good sign. With each ball played the shot is not so much for to drop that ball into the designee pocket, but to drop the neat and the next after that ball into a pocket, with each follow-up.

Obviously you haven't played for $5 a ball, or $1 a ball, even.

Interesting… I take it from your statement that you are a Deist? Regardless, do you believe all we now see would have unfolded into the same ‘shot sequence’ if this ‘game’ was played from the beginning once again?

You are misconstruing the argument. The God of the Bible is not nudging, He is sustaining all with His power. He also takes a personal interest in His finest creation; intelligent, curious and creative man.

He passes wisdom to those who chose to honor Him and He limits those who disregard Him, to a spiritless existence of cause and effect. Fate dealt out by the Prince of this World. Hopeless despair, anguish, death and destruction.

We worship a God who is eternal (outside of time) Omniscient (knowing all), Omnipotent (all powerful) and Omnipresent (aware of everything)! He is also unwilling to force people to honor His ways (granted us free-will), therefore we have the perversion one can see on any newscast.

The flaws in this world were brought on by our free-will disobedience. Those who have reconciled with God through belief in the redeeming sacrifice of Jesus Christ, live a life of joy in fellowship with our Creator. Personally experiencing the spiritual fellowship that comes by faith in the finished work performed on the cross.

Okay, but why believe in a God who never intervenes in his creation? If all further intervention by God is unnecessary, then he may just as well be dead to you.
