Nigerian Christians Burn Corpses

ONITSHA, Nigeria, Feb. 23 -- Christian mobs stopped their killing and looting in this Nigerian city Thursday and turned to disposing of the evidence in the crudest of ways. Men burned the remains of their Muslim victims in smoldering bonfires on downtown streets, leaving behind charred legs, skulls and shoulders that minibus taxi drivers swerved to avoid.

As thousands of Muslims struggled to find a way to reach the northern part of the country or huddled for protection at police stations, Christian residents in this southeastern city expressed little remorse for their role in five days of religious violence sparked by anger over the publication of cartoons of the prophet Muhammad.

Lest we forget: this disciplining of muslims came after a bunch of animists were killed following the made-up outrage over the Danish cartoons. The muslims deserve this reaction and more!!

They are not burning corpses to hide anything - they are doing it to show disrespect toward Muslims, who insist on swift burial of their dead.

The way they are treating the bodies is far more insulting to Muslims than the original killings.

While it depresses me to see Christians act this way, I'm not going to criticize people who have been living under a Muslim threat for decades.

The world needs to take an example from Christian Nigerians who will not sit back quietly and be slaughtered by muslims.

Religious Madness!!

Largely on the Mohammedan side. Christians have been persecuted in Africa by Mohammedans since the time of Mohammed. Mohammedans drove Christians out of northern Africa by killing them or converting them by force. In the past decade 2 million Christian Sudanese have been forced from their homes by the Mohammedan government. And in Nigeria, Christians live in fear of the Mohammedans in the north.

It appears that the recent Mohammedan attacks against Christians in southern Nigeria was the last straw for many Christians there.

I just think the Nigerian Christians have had enough.

I'm trying to think when the Post has used similar characterizations when reporting on beheadings by Islamic barbarians...

Nope, can't come up with a thing.

I couldn't believe it when I read the article - I assumed it was Scrappleface. We're used to Muslim violence against Christians (and Jews, Danes, Flags, Cartoonists etc) but the reverse is extraordinary.

Knowing the situation in Nigeria this reads like low-tech self-defence against murderous Islamic thugs and their imposition of sharia law. But watch out for "cycle of violence" cant from the MSM.

I find it strange that while the muslims were (and are still) killing Christians, the MSM largely ignored the story, but now that the Christians are fighting back, it is headline news. Evil Christians killing the poor muslims.
