What nerve!
What an idiot! She writes a threatening letter to an organization that obviously wanted a Republican to win and it never occurs to her that they're going to make it public?
Yup. Theoretically, she could even be expelled from the Senate for this. Unfortunately, considering that the Dems have just a one-seat majority, they're not bloody likely to let that happen.
Well, she might be expelled but, the problem is her replacement wouldn't be chosen by the Republican govner Owens but buy a Democratic controlled committee. That way the Democrats still wouldn't lose their majority.
If she'd been recalled, there was a likelihood that a Republican could have taken her seat. But her resignation means that the Dems will pick her replacement instead.
