Wasn't that also where Kerensky went after the Bolsheviks seized power in Russia?

A distinguished chemist from India has his temporary visitor's visa refused and is insulted by the State Dept. mandarins. Yet a terrorist is welcomed with open arms and is given a student visa (similar to the ones used by his friends on 9/11)!! What a bizarre world we live in!!!

It'll be interesting to see if these opinions of his are any different from the ones he shares with his pals at Yale's Muslim Students Association.

I was also surprised we didn't arrest Bagdad Bob, Sadaam's spokesman.

"Radical islamists in American universities" ping....you won't believe this story!! The Taliban's former spokesman is now a "distinguised" student/scholar at Yale. Wonder how many more of such "appointments" are taking place without public knowledge.

We also have a "distinguised" professor at the University of Colorado.

Let us not forget Prof. Sami Al Arian from USF. BTW, isn't Ward Churchill still at Colorado?

Brief correction. he did not say Genetic. He said there may be a real difference in performance between sexes.

The first is difficult to prove. The second is handily proven. In other words - no one as far as I know can demonstrate a genetic link, whereas the greater number of high performing (and also low performing) males is quite well documented.

re grades - I recently thumbed through the "Business Week Guide to US Colleges" - one of the criteria used was graduation % - Harvard was like 98%. One would think a more aggressive college actually weeding out the lower performers - (see Cornell Engineering School, for instance) would be considered a "better school" - but again - the strange judgement of people who make these ratings is evident.

Everyone has known for some time that the hardest thing about Harvard was getting in. After the Larry Summers thing, I would have to adjust that to "... getting in and not throwing up due to stench of PC lunacy."

Yes, he is making his $100,000 per year by working 4 to 5 hours per week.

He wants to get (next year) paid with no classes.

They get the summer off, every holiday paid, health insurance, two weeks paid Christmas vacation..

And the government employee who issued this guy's student visa is still being paid by our tax dollars.

I would say a home-grown black person who hates white people and has converted to islam. Washington, DC is loaded with this type. I'm surprised that this isn't more known. Mosques are cropping up all over the DC metro area.

One wonders if their reputation will ever weaken---or can the Leftist establishment hold it up indefinitely.

"Dear Applicant to Yale,
We have reviewed your application for admission to our university.
The admissions committee has decided that you meet the criteria for entry
into Yale.
Except we had to make a slot for a Taliban spokesman/apologist,
thus we won't be able to grant you admission at this time.
Good luck in all your future endeavors.
Sincerely,
Undergraduate Admissions,
Yale University
cc: Affirmative Admissions For Terrorists Committee"

Exactly right. This is akin to Arizona State admitting a convicted murderer to its law school.

Actually, after reading the article, I'm not convinced that Yale made a mistake.

Assuming that this "puff piece" accurately conveyed the student's beliefs, he is a reformed-Taliban member - and would be able to provide valuable insights into terrorism. One of the better guest lecturers I had in a white collar crime class was the perspective of a convicted white collar criminal. You could see the brokenness in his eyes. It seems that this kid has seen why the Taliban seemed attractive to some Afganis, and yet he saw just how destructive a force they were. That's a valuable insight that academics in the ivory towers of Yale won't see.

But, even if this story wasn't accurate, its good to understand the ways of your enemies. It's still valuable to see that.
