I go for the scary ones also. I have seen the Grudge,
Rungu and many others. My wife is from Southern China
who speaks Cantonese and Mandarin. I have recently started studying Mandarin. I spend my time watching Chinese series in Mandarin, we have the satellite Asian package, and
Chinese action and ghost movies. She likes the love stories - bla! It sounds like China and S.Korea are identical in regards to life style. The cities on the Chinese coast are modern and very pleasant to live in. I have been to China many times and as a matter of fact we have a 2 bedroom condo in one of the developments.
Thanks for the tips on the movies "Bittersweet Life" and "The Tunnel". If you decide to watch the series Damo beware it is one of the saddest films I have ever seen. You better have a couple boxes of Kleenex handy. LOL

Have you seen "Infernal Affairs"-I was very impressed with the Chinese city where it took place (forget which one off hand). I thought that was a decent movie. I just saw "Election" and, although it had it's moments, I didn't really care for it.
If you like scary movies see "The Exorcism of Emily Rose"-scared the *&^% out of me-my wife thinks I'm a sissy when it comes to horror movies-she's probably right.
