Confederate swastika indeed!
Julian makes an excellent chairperson for the NAALCP.
Black History Month is just institutionalized racism.
It is about as valid as kwanza.
American history has become the story of Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, and a bunch of mean whities. Nothing else much has happened here for the past 2 or 3 hundred years.
THANK GOD FOR MARCH 1!!
On that day the Democrat liberal elite will herd their black activists back to the stable on the plantation.
Meanwhile, the true progressives in the black community will continue to gain power and success in the Republican Party and the business community!
The Black Panther Party opened a new office in Newark NJ.
This is not good news because the message coming from some of the Black Panther Community speakers is angry. The young poplulation does not need anger and misinformation from people with an agenda that is far from pure.
"THANK GOD FOR MARCH 1!!"
Where used to work (a Federal facility), BHM started mid January and lasted till mid March. Not officially, but the decorations and such went up early and came down late.
Only those who haven't been paying attention to anything for the last forty years. They probably don't have a clue about what their little darlings are being "taught" the rest of the year.
I'd like to know what these privileges are so I can sign up.
".. oral narrative discussing black women's sexuality in America."
So they DO do oral? :)
Some of the nuts in Boston wanted the Shamrocks removed from the fire engines in South Bosron because they said that the Shamrock to Blacks was like the swastika to Jews. Did I miss something?
Really? I would have bet on it.
How much are the Black Panthers in bed with the Nation of Islam? Will we be seeing our own crop of home grown terrorist soon?
As long as there is a Black History Month, Ms. Black America Contest, Black Writers Award, etc., American black society will remain solidly second-rate. I do not remember ever hearing of a Jewish History Month, Ms. Asian America, or the Baptist Writers Award in the USA.
Have you see the textbooks that kids use in schools now days? A friend of my has an 11 year old, and there is very little about the founding fathers. Most History that is taught is post WWII. There is an emphasis on civil rights to the point of absurdity. Civil right deserves a place in history, but not the central focus.
Little is taught of the origins of Western Civilization, like Ancient Greece and Rome.
Also, geography is neglected. When I was in grammar school, we learned all the states with capitols and the next year had to go to a map on the wall and ID every country in the world (there were fewer countries then).
What has happened to Julian Bond. He was once so smart and eloquent. Mr. Bond has turned into a hate-filled man. What made him so angry? Can he truly believe that black Americans have made so little progress in the past forty or fifty years that it justifies this kind of anger and hate?
Your right, I heard that certain black leaders were furious that they were given the shortest month of the year also, a direct slap in their faces even on a leap year.
Warn your kids that the left hates whites like the KKK hates blacks BEFORE they got off to liberalism's colleges! Warn them about the glory of homosexual disease as well!
Don't be shy. This is their only change to hear anything other that P.C. and they do appreciate the heads up.
I had it out with a woman I used to work with about that. I laid, in great detail, how utterly non-privileged I was.
Her response? "Only someone with privilege could fail to recognize it".
You can't even argue with them.
Celebrating a Century and a Half of Civil Rights Achievement by the Republican Party
Republicans held our first state convention in Jackson, Michigan on July 6, 1854. That fall, the GOP swept to victory throughout the North. Other anti-slavery Members of Congress joined the party, so that less than two years later, on February 2, 1856, Republicans elected a Republican Speaker of the House. The Republican National Committee first met the next month, to coordinate opposition to the pro-slavery policies of the Democrats, also known then as "slaveocrats."
And that summer, Republicans held our first national convention. There, we nominated our first presidential candidate, the Georgia-born form California Senator John Fremont. Four years later, we won the White House for the "Great Emancipator."
As the nation sacrificed during the Civil War, Republicans planned the most significant amendments ever to our Constitution and enacted - despite fierce opposition from the Democrats - the 13th Amendment to ban slavery, the 14th Amendment to protect all Americans regardless of the color of their skin, and the 15th Amendment to extend voting rights to African-Americans. The Republicans' 1875 Civil Rights Act guaranteed equal access to public accommodations without regard to race. Struck down by the Supreme Court in 1883, this law would be reborn as the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
"Every man that wanted the privilege of whipping another man to make him work for nothing, and pay him with lashes on his naked back, was a Democrat. Every man that raised bloodhounds to pursue human beings was a Democrat. Every man that cursed Abraham Lincoln because he issued the Emancipation Proclamation was a Democrat." - Robert Ingersoll, 1876.
For its first 80 years, the Republican Party was the only one to provide a home for Afican-Americans. Until well into the 20th century, every African-American Member of Congress was a Republican. The same was true for nearly all state legislators and other elected officials.
