isn't advocating the violent overthrow of the government in a time of war a capital offense?

Doesn't matter, now, does it?

The American public has no will to make such a charge stick, nor to enact capital punishment if that is the punishment due under Law, nor do the mass of the People even actually care.

We don't even have the stomach to uphold our own Law, and we wonder why the Law is flaunted?
