Yes, we're all aware that some polls show Ms. Harris trailing badly, the GOP is unsure about her campaign, and the non-story about the mean ol' defense contractor (posted at least twice). But here are some tidbits you may have missed over the past few weeks.
Did you know...
- ...that the NRSC, which a couple of weeks ago showed no mention of Katherine Harris in its Florida Senate race profile, now has her prominently featured?
- ... that in late Jan 06 Gov. Jeb Bush and LtGov Toni Jennings both publicly endorsed KH's run for Senate?
- ... that a Rasmussen poll from last week had Ms. Harris at 40% to Nelson's 49%?
- ... that Bill Nelson has been hovering at or under 50% job approval in virtually all polls?
- ... that just a few days ago Katherine Harris hitched a ride on Air Force One?
- ... that after having only one member of Congress (Mike Pence) donate to her campaign in 3rd quarter CY05, she had 30 members of Congress, (including Roy Blount, Trent Lott, and multiple Florida PACs) contribute in the CY05's last quarter?
Sounds like GOP players are warming to her candidacy. Maybe you should, too. Food for thought...

And we can add to the fact that Florida seems to have been trending Pubbie the past few elections.
Since some people have a fascination in promoting bad news about Ms. Harris' attempt to take Bill Nelson's seat, I thought it only fair to give both sides of the story. No, I'm not a Florida voter. No, I don't favor Ms. Harris over Mr. Crist or Mr. Gallagher. But the latter two aren't running for the Senate seat, so get over it.
Heck, I don't even know that much about Ms. Harris. But I do know she's a good candidate with a great opportunity to take a seat away from a liberal Dem. And I see the GOP players rallying around her (finally!). The only thing I've really seen stopping her have been the defeatists all around us.
I'm not asking you to support or not support Ms. Harris based on this thread, but rather hoping you might make an informed decision when the time comes. Lord knows she deserves that much, given what she went through back in late 2000/early 2001.

I did contribute to her election campaign, and I'm pleased to see her advance and gain support. I would have to say that Bill Nelson has taken interest, too, as he has become more open to conservative ideas, where in the past he had a pat answer, which was NO ANSWER...or one meant to not give himself away! Or he'd give the standard dem response. "I leave that up to the states...blah, blah, blah!" Yeah, right!
Go Katherine!

Some of us have supported her and contributed to her campaign before those events you've enumerated, when she was all but ostracized by the White House and Republican apparat.

Yes, but there have been too few of us up until now. It's one of those self-fulfilling prophecies. Keep trying to convince everyone that she can't win to depress fundraising and volunteer support, plus potentially poll numbers.

I wonder if she has an office in West Palm. I would work on a campaign, if I found one or it found me.

Katherine's going to do just fine. Nelson is vulnerable which is why the media keeps reporting negatively on Katherine's campaign.

Based on the media attempts to take her out early, I predict a KH victory in November.
Nelson and his media cronies are scared. Bank on it.

I was disgusted how the GOP treated her.She stood up and defended the laws of the state, while she had an Army of detractors, including the State supreme court which even had the audacity to try and change the law.The upside,I doubt any of them will ever make it to a Federal judge nomination![Under this administration anyway]!
