Feb 28 2006 1:40PM France stops exporting poultry to Russia
MOSCOW. Feb 28 (Interfax) - France stopped exporting poultry products to Russia on Tuesday because of the outbreak of bird flu.
France has thus fulfilled the conditions of the single veterinary certificate between Russia and the European Union, the Russian Agriculture Ministry said in a press release.
The H5N1 bird flu virus has been discovered in France, it was reported earlier citing the French Agriculture Ministry.
About 20 countries have introduced a partial or complete ban on French poultry products, including Egypt, China, Morocco, Thailand and Japan.
France is the biggest exporter of poultry to the EU. The first case of the H5N1 virus was discovered in France last week. rm
LOL I had no idea France was the biggest exporter of 'Chicken' to Europe. :)
No Coq au Vin for Putin!.........
Between Mad Cow disease (BSE) and Avian Flu (H5N1), they're all going to be eating tofu-burgers soon enough. I wonder if the fish are contaminated, too?

here in PA, the DNR stock the streams with pre-contaminated trout.... I think that is a democrats way of shortcutting what they claim is bound to happen anyway
French chicken seems redundant.
