And warn him about the little prigs he'll meet there who "think" nothing of value was created between de Machaut and Boulez (I've run into a number of music school types over the years, quite a few of them really "think" this way). I'm sure your son will strike some blows for the good guys!

He's got a lot of work to get to where he wants to go (Carnegie Hall & the like), he can't get there all on talent.

But he works hard at it already.

He's a pretty ornery, opinionated little guy; I don't think folks will be able to persuade him that JS Bach isn't the greatest. :-)
