The DaVinci Code was so badly written that I couldn't get past the first few pages. As a writer, I feel dismayed by the inept prose of so many best-sellers.

Is it as bad as Hairy Potty which by my (and others') count averages 7 cliches per page? (I usually pick up each volume at a bookstore, and read the first two pages for the sole pleasure of counting the awful cliches.)
