"Does Ford need any stinkin engineers?"
My wife's Ford Windstar has a plastic heater door with a plastic hing that broke - so now it is stuck on "cold".
To access it will take most of a day for the repair guy ($650). Ford's "fix" is to replace the entire heater assembly ($350). Add in tax and it's $1,100 for a lousy weak part (a chronic problem in Ford's).
(And it now has become "my" van - until Spring anyway!)
