Having been around enough, he's definitely high, not drunk.

Sounds like Ecstasy to me.

In less than one hour, (6 am EST), Imus will be on radio (and MSNBC). He will LOVE all the attention Gregory's call generated. But Imus will say Gregory was not drunk, and Imus will make fun of Drudge for blowing this all out of proportion. Imus will say he didn't mean it when he said Gregory was drunk, more about, "I'm a drunk/ druggie and I can tell when someone is drinking or on drugs, and Gregory was not either".

I was watching Imus yesterday when Gregory called in to the show from India, and until Imus accused Gregory of being drunk, it never occured to me he was. He just sounded like he always does when he's on with Imus...silly and full of himself, trying to be amusing.

I'm sure Imus will tease viewers with an upcoming call from Gregory to explain himself. And for good measure, Tim Russert, Gregory's boss will probably call in to deny Gregory was drunk. He will probably spout off some ridiculous claim that alcohol isn't even available in India.

Imus will turn this whole thing into a ratings bonanza, talk about it endlessly.

Oh and one other prediction. No other White House reporter will ever mention Gregory's questionable, non-professional call to the Imus show.

One thing certain, sure to please the MSM and Imus. This Gregory dust-up will get far more Imus attention than the historic Presidential visit to India.

Agree with what you say but I believe there will be plenty of anonymous sniping from those who wish to denigrate Drudge.

Matt let his guard down on this one.

oh for sure, Imus will turn this Gregory embarrrrassment into a " bash Drudge" moment. I've got my coffee ready...almost showtime!

I'm going for my second cup too, but I wonder, Bernard and Charles use Drudge? Maybe Bartlett or Kenny have some satire set to go?

I'll bet all the NBC execs and other assorted heavy hitters will be tuned in as we will be.

Almost 15 minutes into the show and no mention of Gregory????? This makes me think Gregory might be in serious trouble over his unprofessional call yesterday.

If Gregory's call isn't mentioned, If Imus uncharacteristically doesn't milk this event for all it's worth, I bet Gregory is in big trouble.....and not only with his wife.

Yeah, nothing. Something will have to be said, I would think.
What's with his wife?

When Gregory went after White House spokesman (mealy mouthed whazhisname?), and had to apologize for being rude, Gregory said his wife chewed him out. His wife is a DC lawyer.

All this tells me is that Matt is not a regular listener and someone gave him a tip. Having press credentials to travel with the President is a very competitive thing. Gregory may be a jerk sometimes, but he's a professional jerk.

Maybe Imus could play the tape of Gregory imitating Brokaw. It's fall-down funny.

Did you hear Imus' only reference to Gregory?

Doris Kearns Goodwin said to Imus, maybe I'm telling you more information than you want to know, and Imus said something like, "just so you aren't drunk", or "you're not drunk too, are you?". A definite, oblique reference to Gregory, and it sure sounded to me as if Imus is not backing off his accusation, that yesterday Gregory called in to the show drunk.
