In the state I'm in, it would be illegal to do that. Extra protection for teachers.

In states where the laws allow taping voices in public places, though, kids could use their mp3 players to record their teachers then podcast it far and wide.

This would result in the immediate ban of mp3 players and cell phones, but for a little while the damp underside of many rocks could be examined.

Anyone thinking of doing this should check legality. It's OK to tape Newt Gingrich but not an open youth meeting in Newton Mass, or "phone sex" sessions between potuses and interns.
