BULLSHIT! ROFL
".......It takes exactly 666 pounds of crap to make 1 gallon of gas."
Doublechecked your math, and you live up to your screen name.
I vote for a Scrappleface check on this thread.
I'd be careful around that stuff: it's loaded with parasites.
You just can make this crap up.
If you are using the 500,000 metric tons (551,155 U.S. tons) of cattle dung that was per year. The US uses that much gasoline about every 7 minutes. That is Finished Motor Gasoline only. We use that many gallions of oil in a little over 3 minutes.
I don't think even Washington D.C. produces enough B.S. to be noticeable.
No question, the US doesn't generate enough crap to replace all the gasoline, even though I'm certain the US cattle market is much larger than Japan's (I don't want to think about importing bullcrap). However, as with any investment, variety is critical to preventing disruption in prices. If the US had numerous energy sources (and domestic makes it all the better), price spikes could be much mitigated. Still, I dont' see any plants coming online just yet, so it's all moot for the moment.
I agree every bit helps. But is the US wants to get the OPEC oil monkey off their backs, research into new fuel sources would be more productive based upon shale oil and methane hydrates.
Does no one care how this may make the cows feel? Can we just assume we have the right to their dung? /peta ramble
Hey, if we can start pulling that oil out of those Canadian tar sands, I'll be FIRST in line. I start salivating when I think of how much oil we could pull out of there.
Start? You are a little behind.

Don't forget all that methane going to waste!
If they processed ALL 500,000 metric tons in the whole country, they would get about 5000 gallons a day - that would supply ONE service station at a busy location (250 20-gallon fill-ups in a day).
And that doesn't take into account the energy and expense needed to process the dung.
Loser idea...
Texas could rule the roost on this energy source as well.
Pretty soon the Democrats will try to impose a cattle dung tax.
Why, they are a prime manufactor of it.
Soylent brown?
"we could all be flushing gas down the toilet right now"
You'll love it when they make you remove your toilet and deliver your "dung" to the local refinery in a plastic bag!
